In 2015, the women’s group at Funding Circle formed with the goal of promoting diversity, equality, and inclusivity within the company. While we initially focused internally, we knew our efforts were needed more broadly. When we looked for existing fintech-wide women's groups, we found nothing - disappointing, yet not surprising given that fintech sits at the intersection of two male-dominated industries, financial services, and technology. This was a problem we decided to fix.

We will become the professional network for women and non-binary people interested in fintech, no matter their gender, background, or geography.

Women in Fintech is a wholly-supportive, safe and open space. Our energy is palpable, with women connecting, asking questions, and sharing their experiences. We create a feeling of trust, safety, and ambition.

Women in Fintech is an incorporated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since our launch, we have hosted over 50 events, expanded across the US, and built our community to more than 2,000 participants. Through our events and content, we educate our community and bring together women to find jobs, mentorship, and expanded professional networks. We’re proud of the impact we’ve made and we're excited about the road ahead - there is much more work to be done.
